JD
Edward Seol

About the Fellow
Edward Seol is a JD candidate at Stanford Law School.
Edward currently serves as a missionary in Thailand, primarily ministering to university and high school students. He also volunteers with local churches to serve refugees and the urban poor. Edward came to faith in college through a profound experience of God’s love, which he understood only through deeply intimate conversations with his closest friends. He has tried to provide Thai students with the same kind of community for sustained personal reflection, teaching a socratic seminar on Christianity and the Meaning of Life where students can think deeply and open-endedly about the things that matter most to them and the kind of lives they want to lead.
Edward previously worked in the Governor’s Office of Illinois, his home state. As the Dunn Fellow for Health and Human Services, he worked to expand healthcare access and housing affordability. His commitment to social welfare stems from his own experiences trying to navigate the complex healthcare system with chronic health issues. Edward graduated magna cum laude from Yale University with a degree in Ethics, Politics, and Economics.
