Grace Matthews

About the Fellow

Grace Matthews is a JD candidate in the Stanford Law School class of 2028. She is currently conducting research at SLS on the legal relationship between Native American tribes and non-tribal members during the 1800’s to provide background on current appellate cases. Grace is a citizen of the Cherokee Nation, and she plans to specialize in federal Indian law. After law school, she hopes to pursue impact litigation that promotes tribal rights. During her undergraduate education, Grace majored in Psychology with a minor in Linguistics at Stanford University. Grace and her husband Caleb are both looking forward to continuing their graduate education at Stanford, where they met and fell in love. Grace and Caleb are leaders in their campus ministry Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship, where Caleb leads worship and Grace leads a women’s Bible study.
